You will need complete a baseline data survey before you start the challenge as we use this information to calculate your targets. Click here for a survey you can use. If you already have this data from a survey carried out in the past 6 months then you can use that, as long as it used the exact same question and possible answers.
Use our Power Point presentation to introduce The Big Shift in your school. It can be used before or after completing your baseline data survey.
DURING THE CHALLENGE
When taking part in The Big Shift, record the total number of journeys made by your class or school on our wallchart. Pupils can also record their journeys individually on our pupil record card.

Sustrans' Superheroes is an individual award scheme aimed at 7- to 11-year-olds which recognises pupils' skills and achievements in walking, scooting and cycling. Based on a booklet of activities, the scheme provides the structure and inspiration for children to learn and practice the skills essential for fun, safe and sustained active travel to school and for other journeys.
